Physical Appearance
The Tank Star is composed of a main body with a pair of continuous treads at its sides; these treads detach and reattach to the machine when transitioning in and out of Boost Charging. Tank Star's main frame is amber yellow and features cyan light on its front and a square metal plate with rounded corners for a seat on top; this seat features rectangular cyan lights at its four sides, as well as a yellow ring forming a circle around the center of the seat. The Tank Star's rear features two hexagonal thrusters. The tank treads are positioned sideways when driving normally, and have cyan lights going down along them; their frames are also predominantly amber yellow, with some parts being colored ivory. When the Tank Star is Boost Charging, the treads switch into upright position and the tread lights change to yellow.
Kirby Air Riders
As a tank-type machine, Tank Star's gimmick is that, when it Charge Boosts, its transforms from its glide form to its ground form: when Charge Boosting, its treads switch from hovering to driving on the ground; during this time, Tank Star cannot turn, but upon releasing the Boost Charge, it will immediately course correct to the direction the Rider is facing, after which the Tank Star transforms back from its ground form to its glide form. Tank Star has very high Grip and Weight, while also having above average Top Speed, Attack, and Max HP. However, its Boost and Turn are very low, and has below average Charge; its Lift is nonexistent as with bike-types and chariot-types. As such, Tank Star works well defensively, has decent combat prowess, and can turn sharply when Charge Boosting, but does poorly in gliding events and may struggle with races.

Trivia
- Despite having the word "Star" in its name, Tank Star is not a star-type vehicle. - The Tank Star's transformation gimmick is implemented into its amiibo figure, although it does not serve any functional purpose, only being a novelty. - Tank Star's gimmick (which is shared with Bull Tank) is somewhat similar to Slick Star 's and Swerve Star 's gimmicks. - However, Tank Star can still turn when driving normally, unlike the former, and can still move while Charge Boosting, unlike the latter.
